The Jerusalem Center for Textual Studies aims to maintain applied programs in the fields of Hebrew language and Hebrew text, and to encourage writing, research, and creativity in various aspects of discourse and text of several types, including digital text.
The center is headed by Prof. Luba Rachel Charlap (Ph.D), former Professor and Deputy for Academic Affairs [Rector] at the Lifshitz Academic College in Jerusalem, as well as a researcher, scientific consultant in the field of Teaching Hebrew as an additional language (L2), and editor. Members of the Academic Committee – Dr. Orly Albeck, Ruth Almagor-Ramon, Prof. Efraim Hazan, Prof. Maya Fruchtman – are partners in the vision and accompany the Center's activities.
The faculty includes expert editors and translators, members of the Academy of the Hebrew Language, language consultants, writers and creators, and lecturers at the Academia.
Our hundreds of graduates are integrated into key positions in the fields of editing, writing, translation, and publishing – in the "Kan" Broadcasting Corporation, in the written and digital press, in publishing houses, in Torah institutes, as well as independent entrepreneur.
Our organization is part of Midra"sh, which is a non-profit Israeli educational organization. The profits from the center's revenues are dedicated to realizing the goals of Midra"sh.
